Ah Japan, there's really no other place like it. The people are just so gentle and kind, the food is delicious and there is heart stopping beauty everywhere you turn. Japan had been on my travel list for quite some time but I was completely unprepared for how much I would fall in love with this place. Tokyo was the last stop in our holiday last April, and the one I was most excited to get too!
Though the weather was unseasonably cold from the moment we arrived that didnt stop us for a moment exploring as much as we possibly could. Returning to the hotel each night I resembled a freezing cold drowned rat but with a beaming smile on my face. The weather prevented me from taking my camera out most days so I sacrificed my phone to the elements, ah well, it was so worth it! Keeping warm with daily helpings of vegetarian udon (OK, sometimes twice a day), eating my weight in sashimi and hunting down the best yakitory in the city was all in a days adventure. It seems like wherever we go, our trip is ruled by our stomachs and to be honest it's our favourite way to explore the city we're in.
Walking hand in hand with my husband and experiencing such a small slice of Japan has me looking at flights and times we can get back there, this time with more time, more udon and more blossoms!
Photos 1 &2 - Unexpected architecuture as we wandered through Tokyo's city centre. It was crazy how calm the centre was compared to other parts of the city (Shibuya for one!)
Photos 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 - The stunning Yoyogi Gardens and Shrine near Harajuku. Just beautiful how much lush green you can see in the middle of a bustling city.
Photos 9, 10 & 11 - Harajuku flower shops, amazingly photogenic crepes and the usual Sunday fashion for the Harajuku girls.
Photo 12 - Tokyo DisneySea saw us soaked to the bone but having the time of our lives.
