Boom! First beauty post and we're kicking off in the middle of the Aussie summer, which has been a stinker so far. Given the amount of melt off my face heat this season has thrown around I wanted to start with the top products I use all summer long, day and night to make it look like I've made an effort (when I really haven't).

Back to base - a tinted moisturizers is my absolute go-to to smooth out skin tone while attempting to stay fresh AF. Having tried quite a few formulas (from luxe to cheap and cheerfuls) I've landed on the Laura Mercier one and it is joylessly living up to its rave reviews. Just enough coverage with a light formula and SPF 20 - sign me up!

Fake it till you make it - In the overwhelming world of concealers I do have quite a few favourites but my current standout is from Tom Ford. The coverage is build-able and still gives a natural finish (but never cakey). It's a bust in the wallet department but i'm happy to report mine is four months old and still going strong!

Bronze baby - So to be as annoying as possible I fell head over heels for the LaMer limited edition bronzing pallet which is now sold out (bad blogger!) BUT my second favourite which is hot on it's heels is MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish.Though my favourite shade is 'Give me sun' there are loads of different options so be sure to muck around with shades to find your favourite.

High on light - I wish I fell in love with highlighters earlier, legit they are life changing. My all time favourites list is growing by the moment but I cannot go past Hot Sand by NARS. It's the perfect illuminating finish but not a strobe streak across your face. Love, love love.

Lippy love - Now this is a new discovery of mine and an impulse purchase I was happy to make. Go-To's Pinky Nudey is the perfect there but not there shade which suits so many skin tones - even better, it's all natural! It's not an overly thick, holds your hair hostage when the wind blows, formula either which is a win! Effortless beach pout here we come!

Lashes of lashes - As a mascara connoisseur I was happy to stumble across this Givenchy offering which, wait for it, separates and lengthens your lashes and doesn't leave crumbling black particles all over your cheeks. It's a pretty good size/shape brush too which I found really user friendly.

Goes without saying but SPF 50+ and a shit load of water are also absolutely necessary all day, errrrr day!
