Oh look, more layering.
For real though, I paid so bloody much for this Max Mara skirt (it was worth it, no regrets) but as we have so many weddings this year I wanted to find more ways to reinvent it to improve it's cost per wear and make me feel better ... enter the idea of rocking it as a petticoat. Wow, I've not thought about the good old petticoat since my days as a dancer but hey, let's roll with this blast from the past. The pattern on this skirt was what drew me to it in the first place and the slits in the satin skirt just happened to be perfect for a chic peek and adds beautiful interest as well. Keeping the top simple (and accidentally tucking in the neck tie, doh) seemed like the right thing to do. Finding a windy spot in which to shoot this in was the right thing to do too seeing as it was 35 degrees!
